We hope you never have a claim, but if you do, follow these steps:
Get the FactsFirst, if there are any injuries at the scene, dial 911 immediately. Then gather as much information as you can. (Keep a pen, paper and Allstate’s claims worksheet handy in your glove compartment.)
HERE'S WHAT INFORMATION YOU SHOULD WRITE DOWN AND EXCHANGE
1. Date, time and location of the accident
2. All contact information for the other driver, plus plate number, driver’s license number and policy information
3. Take photos of the other driver’s documents
4. Contact information from any witnesses
Time to FileEach state has different laws about when an accident report must be filed with the police and Department of Motor Vehicles. Some insurers may also ask for an accident report.
It’s best to file a claim as soon as possible, especially if there were any injuries.
TO FILE WITH ALLSTATE, YOU CAN:
Contact your Allstate agent
Call the 24-hour toll-free national Customer Service Center at 1-800-ALLSTATE (1-800-255-7828), which can review your deductibles and coverage, including for rental cars
Use the Allstate Mobile app
File your claim online at Allstate.com/claims
Speak With an AdjusterOur claims adjusters will objectively review all information about the accident to determine fault and provide a cost estimate. If you’re at fault, we will handle damage claims covered under your policy.
Schedule a Repair EstimateIf your car is inoperable, a claims adjuster or a repair shop that participates in the Allstate Good Hands Repair Network can evaluate the damage and prepare an estimate. If you’re near an Allstate Drive-In Center, you can schedule a convenient inspection there.
